Unsigned Bands

At first this seemed like a daunting task due to there being many unsigned bands out there for us to choose from. My taste in music varies from rock to indie with electro and lots of different genres in between, which made the choice of our artist very perticular to the song and creating a video around the song rather than focussing mainly on the genre.

We narrowed it down to 5 artists:

The Method  

‘The Method’ is a band we found whilst browsing YouTube ~INDIE/POP~ 

Lewis Watson

‘Lewis Watson’ is a 19 year old boy, from London, we found him on Twitter. His acoustic skills are what attracted us to his voice. ~INDIE/ACOUSTIC/POP~

      Kankouran

‘Kankouran’ are a band we heard on the TV programme ‘Skins’. (Series 6) We were attracted to their sound because of their unusual voices and the pace of their music. ~INDIE/ELECTRO~

     

     

      Bribry

     ‘Bribry’ Was found again via YouTube. Although he is best known for ‘Vlogging’ and making short sketches rather than making music, he has powerful but soft vocal skills. ~INDIE/ACOUSTIC~

The Vagaband

The Vagaband are an exception to the rest, we came across them busking on Gentleman’s walk in Norwich. They said “We are doing this for the love of music rather than the money.” We thought this was a wonderful message and ethic to have. ~FOLK~ (There are no recorded videos on youtube of The Vagaband)

Some ideas may not fit in well with different genres, but this selection of artists/bands gives us a choice and versatility of ideas.
